It is typical for composite staircases to be made with treated lumber stringers and covered with composite kickboards and stringers. The vast majority of these composite staircases built with wooden stringers will experience at least some\u2014 and possibly significant\u2014 rot in five-to-ten years.<\/span><\/p>

Top Deck\u2019s stair systems are built using unique solid composite lumber stringers that are reinforced using 1\/4\u201dx5\u201d aluminum plates with composite treads and kickboards. No wood is used in the building of these staircases.
